Recreational Therapy 

Our  Recreational Therapy (RT) program strives to implement and facilitate inclusive and specialized recreation and leisure pursuits that provide opportunities for members of all abilities and backgrounds to recreate together. Our team of Student Staff, Volunteers, and a Nationally Certified Recreational Therapist work together to provide a multitude of inclusive and specialized recreation and leisure opportunities for groups and individuals.

Recreational Therapy Internship

The WELL Recreational Therapy Department (RTD) is offering a Recreational Therapy Internship for Spring 2021. This Internship provides an opportunity to apply academic work and practices within a campus recreation setting. We are accepting applications for the Recreation Therapy Internship position through December 8th at 5 pm.

The Internship will be from January 11th - May 21st for 560 hours (about 30- 35 hrs each week). This Recreational Therapy Internship Position is classified as a Temporary Assignment with the RTD with a pay rate of $15.50 per hour. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom in December 2020.

Recreational Therapy Individual Sessions

Work with a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to support your personal growth in your Wellness journey. To receive an individual Leisure Wellness plan you can Schedule an appointment

Therapeutic Group Recreation

Therapeutic Group Recreational provides opportunities for participants that support a balanced and active life by providing programming that focuses on the 7 Dimensions of Wellness ultimately increasing their quality of life. Offerings include but are not limited to the below programs.


Practice awareness of the present moment intentionally and without judgment. Mindfulness meditation practices refer to the deliberate acts of regulating attention through the observation of thoughts, emotions, and body states.

Inclusive Fitness

Enhance your physical wellness through movement suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.
